This Kabuto is most likely from approximately the post-Keicho Era (c-1596) or Pre~early Edo Period, which is also considered late koto-early Shinto and is appears to be from the Myochin School, which was considered the leading school of armourers in the 16-18th century. It is of the Suji-Bachi design, and can be considered a helmet which escaped the wrath of wars. The fukigaeshi ears were lacquered generously and has been preserved very well considering its appearance. 62 plate Kabutos are rare and would have been similar in price at the time to a high quality Katana. Please inquire directly if seriously interested. Shipping and Handling will be included in the sale price. |
