An extremely rare Large Ichimatsu Gofun Jointed Ichimatsu Ningyo Doll. Estimated to be from late Edo~Meiji Period and observed to be in very good to excellent condition. No major cracks or flaws but age-old wear and joints are intact. The kimono is of chirimen silk with matching bib and hat. The eyes are glass and the whole body is made of gofun or powdered oyster shells. The doll has a tongue, red-puckered lips plus real human hair. Total Height is 61 cm.

A large Go-gatsu Ningyo or Boy's Festival Samurai Doll estimated to date back to mid-early Meiji Period (1880s). Made of Gofun face and limbs and in complete warrior armor set. Simply stunning and a great reminder of the fierce aura of the Samurai to compliment your collection or any interior needs. Stands at around 47 cm in height and comes in wooden boxwood case.
